This story aims to represent otherness through a topic that concerns all children. Our hero is a boy who has a tooth come out and doesn’t know what to do with it. According to his country’s traditions, he can throw it on the roof tiles but his house doesn’t have any. In a cross-cultural context, the book then goes on to present different traditions around teeth, to conclude that we are not defined by these, but instead, we can choose what to do with our teeth and our bodies in general.
